7.4.22  UPDATE

The Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Integrated Care System (ICS) declared a system critical incident on Tuesday 29 March 2022. This is in relation to increasing numbers of patients with covid in our hospitals and extremely high levels of staff sickness across our health and care system.

Both of these issues are having a knock-on effect on other NHS services including GP practices across the county. We are asking all patients to be aware of the exceptional demand we are currently facing, including our own staff sickness levels.

Our staff are working very hard to accommodate all patient needs. Minor ailments can be addressed via your local pharmacy, and our reception team can pre-book these appointments for you.    Professionals across the county are doing everything they can to rapidly improve the position and apologise for any negative impact this may have on our patients.

Read the full statement on the ICS website here

28.3.22 IMPORTANT UPDATE
Unfortunately we are under significant pressure due to Covid 19 & have a number of clinical & admin staff off sick
We can only deal with emergencies for the rest of the week. For any life threatening illnesses’, please call 999 or for non-urgent medical matters call 111 or contact your local pharmacy.
Thank you for your patience during these times.
25.2.22 Update
Patients & visitors must continue to wear a face covering and follow social distancing guidelines when attending the surgery.
We appreciate that while Covid-19 restrictions have changed for the general public, we have to take particular care of our patients and staff.
Thank you for your continued cooperation.

Women's Health Survey

A Women’s Health Project Group is asking: How can we make it easier for women in Shropshire and Mid Wales to get advice on their health?

Figures show that women are not coming forwards for screening or asking for help with the menopause. A group made up of local NHS providers and patient representatives across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin and Mid Wales is trying to find out the reasons why.

A survey has been launched to ask the views of women on breast and cervical screening, as well as the menopause, and can be accessed here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Women22

The results will be used to shape future women’s services in the area and we are therefore encouraging all women to take part.

The survey is the first of its kind in the area and takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. All information provided will be anonymous and the closing date for the survey is Monday 28 February 2022.

Once the survey results are collated they will be analysed and shared with NHS providers and patient representatives to see how improvements can be made.

For more information on the survey or paper copies please email: sath.engagement@nhs.net or ring 01743 261000 ext. 2390.

  • Important Car Park Update

From 26th February 2021 Oswestry Health Centre will be having a new car parking system in place.  Patients will have 90 minutes free parking if they register their number plate prior to their appointment. Failure to do this, will result in a fine!

  • Prescription Ordering

20/03/2020 - The POD now have an email address you can request your prescriptions from:-  It is shropshire.pod@nhs.net

18/03/2020 - The Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin CCG’s Prescription Ordering Direct (POD) service has been experiencing a huge increase in demand. For example, on Monday the Telford and Wrekin POD service received more than 15,000 calls compared to the usual number of just over 2,000.

We would like to remind people that there is absolutely no need to order your prescriptions earlier than usual, or order more than you need and stockpile. Patients should continue to order their prescriptions as normal, when they are due. We’re also seeing a knock-on effect at our local community pharmacies who are also under a lot of pressure.

We would like to thank all our patients for their cooperation during this time.
