The Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin CCG’s Prescription Ordering Direct (POD) service has been experiencing a huge increase in demand. For example, on Monday the Telford and Wrekin POD service received more than 15,000 calls compared to the usual number of just over 2,000.

We would like to remind people that there is absolutely no need to order your prescriptions earlier than usual, or order more than you need and stockpile. Patients should continue to order their prescriptions as normal, when they are due. We’re also seeing a knock-on effect at our local community pharmacies who are also under a lot of pressure.

We would like to thank all our patients for their cooperation during this time.

Repeat Prescriptions

We no longer take repeat prescription requests on our prescription phone line.  Please telephone The Prescription Ordering Direct (POD) service on 0333 358 3509, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm or complete the repeat slip with the items required and drop it in the box provided in the waiting room.

Please click on the link below for more information.

NHS Prescription Ordering Direct (POD)

You can also order on line, just click on www.patient.co.uk/patient-access  which will open a new page.  From here you can register for online appointments and prescription requests.  Once you have registered you will need to wait approximately 48 hours to be accepted and fully registered.

 Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see either a doctor, nurse practitioner practice nurse or pharmacist at least once a year to review these regular medications.

Please allow two full working days between requesting and collecting your prescription.
