The aims of the Patient Participation Group

  • To offer opinions in a constructive manner and to put forward ideas on behalf of other patients.
  • To improve the provision of health care.
  • To improve communication between surgery, patients and the wider community about matters concerning the surgery and health in general.
  • To help in development of new services.
  • To encourage a spirit of self help and support amongst patients to improve their health and social care.

The PPG does not deal with personal medical issues or complaints. Please view the practice complaints procedure for further detail.

Joining the PPG Core Group

The core group is the formal group of people including an elected Chair and other officers. It generally meets every three months for a couple of hours during the day at a time to suit the majority of attendees and also has a formal Annual General Meeting. Practice staff also attend these meetings.

So, are you interested and want to find out more? Or would you prefer an informal chat with the Chair of the group first? Email your interest to cambrian.ooh@nhs.net or phone your surgery on 01691 652929 and speak to Nicola James or Paula Jones.

Getting your view

The group would like to contact patients on occasion by various media so that they can obtain the views of the widest group of patients possible. Check this part of the web site and practice notice boards for future details.

We would also encourage you to complete the NHS Friends and Family Patient Feedback requests when asked to do so. The Practice value all your comments and these can help make further improvements to the services.
