Catchment check

Before filling out a registration form, check you are in our catchment area below. Unfortunately we cannot accept patients who live outside of our practice boundaries. We feel our practice is an integral part of the local community and whilst we recognise the need for patient choice, we would not wish to compromise the high standard of care that we deliver to our existing patients and those potential patients who reside within our catchment area.

Out of area registration

You may be aware of a government initiative to give GP practices the choice of registering new patients who currently live outside of their practice boundaries.  After careful consideration, the Partners of Cambrian Medical Centre have decided not to take part in this scheme. Therefore, we will not be registering patients who live outside of our practice boundaries.

We feel our practice is an integral part of the local community and whilst we recognise the need for patient choice, we would not wish to compromise the high standard of care that we deliver to our existing patients and those potential patients who reside within our catchment area.

How to register

Temporary registration

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to fourteen days. If you intend to stay in the area for more than fourteen days, and your medical problem has not resolved, your temporary residence status can be extended for up to three months.  This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you may be required to register  permanently with the practice.

To register as a temporary patient contact the local practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.
