Out of Area Registration

You may be aware of the recent government initiative to give GP practices the choice of registering new patients who currently live outside of their practice boundaries.  After careful consideration, the Partners of Cambrian Medical Centre have decided not to take part in this scheme.  Therefore, we will not be registering patients who live outside of our practice boundaries.

We feel our practice is an integral part of the local community and whilst we recognise the need for patient choice, we would not wish to compromise the high standard of care that we deliver to our existing patients and those potential patients who reside within our catchment area.

Registration for organ and blood donation

It is now very simple for patients to self-register on the NHS Blood and Transplant website www.nhsbt.nhs.uk and by doing so they have a greater choice and options.  If patients prefer to talk to someone to register they can telephone the NHS Blood and Transplant helpdesk on 0300 123 2323.

Communication

Do you have any particular communication preferences?  For example, do you have impaired sight and require information in braille, large print or easy read? Or do you require support to lip-read or use a hearing aid or communications tool.  Please inform us if you need information in a different format or communication support so that we can make a note in your medical record and comply with your request.
